Quality Catering Hires Jordan Kaplan as Kitchen Manager
October 12, 2010 -- Jordan Kaplan is the new kitchen manager at Quality Catering for Kids, which serves child care centers and grade schools, and Quality Catering, which serves adult day care centers.
Kaplan joined the company after working more than six years at Wildfire, a Chicago-area restaurant chain that is part of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises.
“Through my previous work history in a very busy and successful restaurant, I have seen how good operations supports success of the company,” said Kaplan, who is working to enhance the kitchen operations at Quality Catering. “Whether it is the person who is making the food, the person portioning the food or the person washing the dishes, each of them know that by doing their jobs the best they can, they are helping make Quality Catering an even greater company.”
The staff of the company’s USDA-certified kitchen each day prepares more than 15,000 ready-to-serve meals that are delivered to child care centers, preschools, private grade schools and adult day care centers in northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin.
Menus are designed with a strong focus on nutrition, and guided by an on-staff Dietary Technician-Registered.
“Just as we are committed to providing nutritious, excellent meals for our customers, we are also committed to enhancing the excellence of our organization,” said Jim Scharnell, founder and president of Quality Catering. “Jordan has the skills, experience and drive that will help our kitchen operations meet the challenges of our continued growth and sustain our place as the leader in nutritional meals for child care centers, schools and adult day care centers.”
Kaplan holds a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Away from work, he plays softball and enjoys watching professional baseball, football and basketball. He and his wife live in Buffalo Grove, Ill.
