Quality Catering for Kids provides nutritious hot lunches, breakfasts, sack lunches and snacks to more than 15,000 children in child care centers, private schools and child development centers in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. We have organic and vegetarian menu options.
We ensure that our meals meet nutrition, growth guidelines and nutritional value, while our food handling and prepartion is USDA-certified to ensure food safety and quality. Our meals meet the USDA's "Food Plate" guidelines to give you further confidence in the nutritional value.
Company president Jim Scharnell brings a passion for nutrition and good eating habits to Quality Catering for Kids. He has a deep understanding of how top-quality nutritious food promotes proper childhood development and that many children in the U.S. today have nutrition-deficient diets. In response, Quality Catering for Kids prepares menus children like, but with healthful ingredients and preparation that preserves nutritional value. Our primary menus are free of foods with trans fats.
More than a meal
Because Quality Catering for Kids believes so strongly in the nutritional value in food, the company has created lesson plans to accompany our meals. The plans are provided at no additional cost to our preschool customers. An early childhood educator with a master's degree in nutrition education writes those plans.
Because of its size and experience, Quality Catering for Kids is able to provide its nutritional kids hot lunches cost-effectively -- at a price substantially below that of a brown bag lunch or lunches provided by other private services.
Quality Catering for Kids has been in business for more than 30 years and employs approximately 70 people. It has headquarters in the northern Illinois community of Lake Villa (near the Illinois-Wisconsin border) and Wisconsin offices in the Milwaukee suburb of Brookfield.
