- What type of security system is in place so my child is safe in the center and on the playground?
- May I call a few parents to see what they say about your center and teachers?
- Is it OK if I sit in on one of the rooms that my child might be assigned to?
- How long are children permitted to nap?
- Who caters your food, and is that caterer’s kitchen USDA-certified?
- If your caterer isn’t USDA-certified, is a licensed agent present while serving food?
- How do you adjust your menus for children with food restrictions or allergies?
- How do you determine the correct meal portions?
- Do you provide menus weekly or monthly?
- How do you deal with children who are fussy eaters or won’t eat what’s on their plates?
- Is the food you serve built into the cost of tuition?
- What kind of experience does your food provider have with preparing food for this age group?
- How does your lunch provider maintain safe temperatures while transporting food from its kitchens to your site?
- Are your meal delivery people recognizable and in uniform when they enter your center?
- Do you let the children eat at their own pace?
- Do you sit with the children and encourage socialization during mealtimes?
- What kind of snacks do you serve?
- Are the fruits and vegetables fresh, frozen or canned?
- When a parent brings the children a treat from home, will I be given notice?
