Nutrition lesson plans from Quality Catering for Kids

Now it’s easy to teach your children about nutrition.

1. Lessons plans reflect Quality Catering for Kids' menus and use our Healthy Hero characters to teach the value of good nutrition and proper eating habits.
2. Our lesson plan stories are approved by our Dietetic Technician, Registered, so you care be assured that nutritional information is accurate and appropriate.
3. All lesson stories are written by a licensed Wisconsin educator with a master's degree in Professional Education.
4. Enough lesson plan stories are provided at a ratio of 10 children to 1 teacher.
5. These stories are complimentary. Our hope is that the stories will engender good eating habits among children -- habits that will last a lifetime and help the children develop healthy lifestyles.

How to best use our customized nutrition lesson plan stories.                              

1. There are 12 stories. Approximate teaching time is 5 minutes.
2. Each story is to be read around lunchtime once a week. If you would like to teach it more than once a week, please repeat the same story.
3. Each quarter you will receive a hand puppet for each of your children to take home.
4. These puppets introduce our Healthy Hero characters which appear in the lesson plan stories. These characters were created specifically for our lesson plan program. Each puppet has one very simple question about the food item represented on the front of that puppet.
5. We will be delivering the puppets to your center to be distributed to the children the last week the lesson plan is taught.
